Project Overview

The Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine Research Program at MUSC Health provides specialized care for rare and complex pulmonary diseases across the Southeast. The division supports a robust clinical research infrastructure with extensive experience conducting phase I–IV clinical trials focused on bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, NTM pulmonary disease, and other advanced lung conditions.

Project Summary

Led by Patrick Flume, MD, and a multidisciplinary team of pulmonary and infectious disease specialists, the MUSC program conducts innovative clinical and translational research in bronchiectasis and NTM disease. The center actively participates in multicenter trials, registry studies, and translational science initiatives focused on improving treatment strategies, patient outcomes, and quality of life for individuals with chronic pulmonary disease.
