Project Overview

The UC San Diego Bronchiectasis and NTM Program is a multidisciplinary referral center specializing in the care and research of non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis and pulmonary NTM disease. The center integrates pulmonary medicine, infectious disease expertise, respiratory therapy, and clinical research to support comprehensive patient care and therapeutic innovation.

Project Summary

The program participates in multicenter clinical trials and registry-based research evaluating therapies for pulmonary NTM infections and bronchiectasis, including liposomal amikacin inhalation therapy and brensocatib. Current collaborative studies also include comparative antibiotic treatment strategies for pulmonary Mycobacterium avium complex disease aimed at improving real-world patient outcomes.
