INTEGRATE BRONCHIECTASIS & PULMONARY NTM PROGRAM
Research Center Type
Project Overview
INTEGRATE is a multidisciplinary clinical and research program focused on improving the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of bronchiectasis and pulmonary NTM disease. The center combines expertise in pulmonary medicine, infectious diseases, microbiology, immunology, and translational science to provide integrated patient-centered care and innovative research initiatives.
Project Summary
The UCSF research team conducts translational, mechanistic, and clinical studies focused on host susceptibility to NTM infection, macrophage immune responses, healthcare disparities, and treatment outcomes. Research includes prospective registries, biorepositories, NIH-supported investigations, and industry-sponsored clinical trials designed to improve therapies and long-term patient care.
Project Goals
- To improve understanding of susceptibility to pulmonary NTM infection
- To characterize macrophage and host immune responses in bronchiectasis
- To evaluate innovative diagnostics and treatment strategies
Impact
The UCSF INTEGRATE program supports nationally recognized research and multidisciplinary clinical care for patients with bronchiectasis and pulmonary NTM disease. Through collaborative clinical trials, translational science, and integrated care models, the program aims to improve diagnosis, expand therapeutic options, and enhance patient quality of life across Northern California and beyond.
Advancing Research. Improving Lives.
Support innovative NTM research that drives better outcomes for patients.
